This piece reflects a moment of introspection and calm. The figure, withdrawn into itself, conveys the serenity of someone looking back with a slight smile of satisfaction.
The background, in contrast to the realistic figure, introduces the symbolic plane: the orange lines, which appear in several of my works, represent the thread of thought, the connection between what has been experienced and what still endures.
From a technical point of view, the work starts from a realistic base in acrylic, on which layers in oil and pastel are superimposed, building the symbolic environment, a representation of their mind and thoughts. The contrast between the figurative precision and the energy of the free stroke invites you to stop and look beyond the surface.
This work was selected for the group exhibitions of the Sant Lluc Association 2024 and Beyond Resonance, Mariam Cremades Gallery (Alicante, 2025).
